TOM COMETA - Keyboard
Tom is a native Rochesterian and started playing with local bands and
combos at the age of 15. He performed with many small groups over the
years, and was one of the original members of Vic Plati's
New
Portrait. Tom is a graduate of
St. John
Fisher College and recently retired after 37 years with
Xerox Corporation, where he was an
Area Manager in Capital Projects. Tom is a great musician and a superb
contributor to the overall sound of the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz
Orchestra. |

RALPH DeBERGALIS - Guitar
Ralph joined the group in 2000, adding the distinctive rhythm guitar
style that is an identifiable "Basie" sound. Ralph plays in numerous
small groups, including the
Maggie Mullen Quartet. He continues to
study jazz guitar at the
Eastman School
of Music with Bob Sneider.
Ralph's day gig is Manager of Transportation and Logistics at ITT Goulds
Pumps.

BOB DeROSA - Bass
An original member of the band, Bob spends his days as an independent
business communication consultant, helping businesses of all sizes with
their public relations and marketing communications needs. In addition
to the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Bob frequently plays
around town in duo, trio, and quartet settings, including the
Maggie Mullen Quartet. Bob is also co-owner of
Tritone Jazz Fantasy Camps, week-long immersions in jazz
for adult players, held every summer in Rochester and on the Door County
Peninsula in Wisconsin. |

MARK ZECCHINO - Drums
Mark is employed as an
Information Technology Manager for Southco, Inc. in Honeoye Falls, NY.
He enjoys playing with the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra
and a few smaller combos to "keep in touch" with his love for music. He
originally planned to have a career in music, attending the Berklee
School of Music and the Eastman School of Music, but later decided to
pursue an interest in electrical engineering and computers, earning an
A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology and a B.S. in Information
Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology. |
