TOM COMETA - Keyboard

Tom is a native Rochesterian and started playing with local bands and combos at the age of 15. He performed with many small groups over the years, and was one of the original members of Vic Plati's New Portrait. Tom is a graduate of St. John Fisher College and recently retired after 37 years with Xerox Corporation, where he was an Area Manager in Capital Projects.  Tom is a great musician and a superb contributor to the overall sound of the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.

RALPH DeBERGALIS - Guitar

Ralph joined the group in 2000, adding the distinctive rhythm guitar style that is an identifiable "Basie" sound.  Ralph plays in numerous small groups, including the Maggie Mullen Quartet.  He continues to study jazz guitar at the Eastman School of Music with Bob Sneider.  Ralph's day gig is Manager of Transportation and Logistics at ITT Goulds Pumps.

BOB DeROSA - Bass

An original member of the band, Bob spends his days as an independent business communication consultant, helping businesses of all sizes with their public relations and marketing communications needs. In addition to the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Bob frequently plays around town in duo, trio, and quartet settings, including the Maggie Mullen Quartet. Bob is also co-owner of Tritone Jazz Fantasy Camps, week-long immersions in jazz for adult players, held every summer in Rochester and on the Door County Peninsula in Wisconsin.

MARK ZECCHINO - Drums

Mark is employed as an Information Technology Manager for Southco, Inc. in Honeoye Falls, NY.  He enjoys playing with the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra and a few smaller combos to "keep in touch" with his love for music. He originally planned to have a career in music, attending the Berklee School of Music and the Eastman School of Music, but later decided to pursue an interest in electrical engineering and computers, earning an A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology and a B.S. in Information Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
