Trumpets
JIM HOLMAN (Trumpet) - Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Jim Holman received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Jim then continued his musical studies and received a master’s degree in Music Education at Nazareth College. During his college career, Jim performed in various Jazz Ensembles and Jazz Combos, Orchestras, Wind Ensembles, and Concert Bands. In his free time, Jim has enjoyed playing in Drum and Bugle Corps, Black Gold from Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1990, ‘92, ‘93. Blue Knights from Denver, Colorado in 1995 and eventually went on to win the Drum Corps International Championship in 1996 with the Blue Devils from Concord, California. Jim currently teaches privately and is employed with the Gates Chili Middle School District, teaching concert band, brass lessons, and jazz band.

BERNIE SCHROEDER (Trumpet) - As the President of Lake Beverage Corp., Bernie is “The Budman” by day and a “Jazzman” by night. Bernie is delighted to be playing trumpet with the talented musicians of the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. Bernie can also be found playing trumpet with the Kodak concert band, the Pittsford Fire Department Band and various Community theatre orchestras around town; many in support of the thespians in his family.
BJ COMER (Trumpet) - BJ recently moved to Rochester from South Texas, where he studied music at Texas A&M University - Kingsville. As founder and owner of Upbeat Music, BJ is now a full-time musician and instrumental instructor. When he’s not teaching his music students, BJ enjoys performing with Grupo Calle Uno Salsa Band, the Pittsford Fire Department Band, the Rochester Brass Quintet, and the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.
BILL FAUL (Trumpet) - Bill is a retired Kodak Research and Development imaging scientist. His interests now are learning to be a competent jazz trumpeter (big bands, combos, and musicals), doing rigorous exercise, collecting and operating O-Gauge model trains (e.g., Lionel), taking and leading courses at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (The Athenaeum) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (academically-oriented learning for those over 50), and being a beach bum.
